Exeter Mathematics School (EMS) is a unique 6th form, created to meet the needs of able Mathematics students throughout the South West. Jointly sponsored by the University of Exeter and Exeter College, it opened in September 2014.  The school is a learning community in which students' needs are at the centre. EMS students expect high levels of challenge coupled with thoughtful support and guidance, working in an atmosphere that fosters creative and rigorous thinking, encourages enquiry and engenders confidence in problem-solving. SALARY: £35 350 – £40 400 FTE

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced and dynamic person for this senior position. The Business Manager will be the school’s leading non-teaching member of staff and part of the senior leadership team.  Reporting to the Headteacher, the post-holder will manage the non-academic and non-pastoral activities of the school and will provide sound information and analysis to the Headteacher and to the School Governors on financial and non-academic management issues.  Responsibilities will include managing the school budget, ensuring financial systems are robust and implemented, preparation of the annual budget and the production of the school’s five year business plans and supporting the administrative and premises team.  The Business Manager will develop and maintain a close working relationship with Exeter College and the University of Exeter to ensure that services are coordinated and effective.
