Job Title: Electrical System Engineer

Job Location: Devon, South West England

Job Salary: GBP40k-GBP50k per annum (dependent upon experience)

Key responsibilities

- Management of systems project data
- Holding and documenting timely system design reviews
- Overall system design
- Scheduling of project timescales and resources
- Ensure team members adhere to company procedures and processes
- Awareness of system certification and vehicle homologation
- Liaison with all Project team members
- Ensure compliance with and the application of relevant standards and codes of practice
- Contribute to the continuous development of business processes and systems

Other responsibilities

- Report writing, approval and project information recording
- Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation
- Undertake or provide any training that is necessary within your role

What you'll need as the Electrical Design Engineer


- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Use of MS Project
- Experience of design and function of automotive systems
- Knowledge of vehicle electrics 12 & 24v
- Knowledge of vehicle control systems and ECU mapping
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels including suppliers and customers
- Generally computer literate and able to adapt to different software
- Good report writing and project information recording
- Able to resolve basic computer problems with minimal help
- Able to produce system/product verification plans and procedures to allow detailed integration and verification testing of the developed system/product


- Managing staff
- Experience of drawing issue control using PDM.
- Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation
- Presentation skills
- Use of ERP and MRP systems
- Knowledge of drawing standards including BS 8888
- 3D Cad skills preferably with SolidWorks

Qualifications & experience:

- Minimum of HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical or related discipline, and or relevant experience
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- Proven experience of working in a System Engineer role
