The Role To assist the Assistant Regional Finance Director in driving the effective financial and workflow performance of the region to deliver against its business targets through the provision of analysis and insight of both standard and ad hoc financial reports. To be a key relationship manager between the Region and the Head Office based Accounting & Reporting Team in order to ensure that the Region's financial requirements are met on a timely and accurate basis. To support the regional Head of Departments in order to support operational efficiency and availability of information The role requires significant communication and liaison at different levels across the organisation in a matrix structure and it is important that these contacts should be managed effectively and co-operatively, in the interests of both the Region and Group. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day relationship and communication flows between the Region and the Accounting & Reporting team, undertaking integrity reviews of all data provided to the Region, including the Region's monthly management accounts (prepared by the Accounting & Reporting Team) to ensure that they are complete and accurate and show a true and fair view of Regional trading performance. Assist the Regional Finance Director with the preparation of the Region's annual Budget and Business Plan together with the monthly forecasts. Provide and manage the flow of both financial and operational management information and reports to the various Heads of Function within the region, ensuring that they are timely, accurate and informative. Principal contact for the Head Office based Accounts Payable Team Assist the regional commercial team with the subcontract payment cycle. Assist the Group Tax Team with their monthly review of Regional VAT returns. Review the transactional detail of departmental operating costs, recommending accruals/prepayment and recodes as necessary Monitor the project land and build cost of sales write offs, to ensure all costs are recovered across the job lifecycle Update and manage site appraisals post Green File stage, and subsequently update the Project Masterfile within the Company's finance system (Agresso) with site milestone data in real time, and Adaptive with any changes to the forecast. Be the first point of contact for support and assistance for Regional colleagues working on the finance system (e.g. when completing an expenses claim or requisition request). Liaison with the Group's Estate Management business stream, providing estimated costs to assist with the completion of Service Charge budgets for the Company's developments, and appraising draft budgets before final sign-off. Deputise for the Assistant Regional Finance Director in periods of his/her absence at Regional (or Group) management meetings when requested to do so. Undertake other ad hoc tasks at the direction of the Assistant Regional Finance Director or Regional Managing Director. Assist the Assistant Regional Finance Director to ensure adequate and appropriate financial and tax records are maintained for statutory and internal/external audit purposes, in compliance with both Group policies and current legislation. Education and Qualifications Either completed or undertaking the study of a professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
