Job Title: Electrical System Engineer Job Location: Devon, South West England Job Salary: £40k-£50k per annum (dependent upon experience) Key responsibilities - Management of systems project data - Holding and documenting timely system design reviews - Overall system design - Scheduling of project timescales and resources - Ensure team members adhere to company procedures and processes - Awareness of system certification and vehicle homologation - Liaison with all Project team members - Ensure compliance with and the application of relevant standards and codes of practice - Contribute to the continuous development of business processes and systems Other responsibilities - Report writing, approval and project information recording - Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation - Undertake or provide any training that is necessary within your role Company player - Effectively communicates with all members of company staff - Effectively communicates with customers and suppliers - Deals with problems and challenges efficiently and effectively - Administratively effective - keeps business information updated, easily accessible and secure - A 'thinking performer' - challenges/questions the way things are done to find and implement improvements to the way we work. Proactive not reactive - Wants to and does continuously improve themselves (skills and behaviour) - Embodies the company values of integrity, mutual respect, enthusiasm, quality and quantity - Adds something unique to the team (e.g. skills, experience, attributes) What you'll need as the Electrical Design Engineer Essential: - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Use of MS Project - Experience of design and function of automotive systems - Knowledge of vehicle electrics 12 & 24v - Knowledge of vehicle control systems and ECU mapping - Good communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels including suppliers and customers - Generally computer literate and able to adapt to different software - Good report writing and project information recording - Able to resolve basic computer problems with minimal help - Able to produce system/product verification plans and procedures to allow detailed integration and verification testing of the developed system/product Desirable: - Managing staff - Experience of drawing issue control using PDM. - Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation - Presentation skills - Use of ERP and MRP systems - Knowledge of drawing standards including BS 8888 - 3D Cad skills preferably with SolidWorks Behavioural competencies: - Approachable and dependable - Able to lead and mentor - Logical and thorough approach to record keeping - Able to meet deadlines and control budgets - Drive to achieve quality in all that he/she does - Able to work effectively under pressure Qualifications & experience: - Minimum of HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical or related discipline, and or relevant experience - Electrical Engineering Degree - Proven experience of working in a System Engineer role Organisational fit: - Able to work on an informal basis with colleagues and communicate directly - Able to work as part of a team - Communicates honestly, openly and positively - Able to work on your own initiative and maintain your own motivation - Able to work on an outcome related performance system - Has a positive approach to problems - Balances creative flair with a disciplined approach and good organisational skills - Has the desire and ability to contribute to the company as a whole In return we can offer: - Family health - Dentist - 25 days holiday - 5% bonus - Pension How to Apply If you are interested in progressing your career as the Electrical System Engineer, apply now for immediate consideration.
