Our client, a dynamic and innovative SME with offices in Exeter, are recruiting for an energetic and creative UX/UI Designer to join their Development team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This position is a contract for a period of 3 - 6 months with the potential for this to be extended on a rolling contract basis. Duties & Responsibilities: - Be the stand-alone voice of UX/UI; explaining your design rationale to developers and commercial staff - Lead the development of the visual and interaction elements of user experiences, refining them towards a polished design, considering typography, iconography, layout and brand identity along the way - Collaborate with Developers and customers to get to the heart of what the users need, creating sketches, concepts, user journeys, wireframes and navigational prototypes - Instigate projects and prioritise your own workload. - Help organise formal user research and proactively try out ideas and designs with people to make sure we're meeting real user needs. - Do all this with a view to achieving single, seamless service on all screens across all products Skills & Experiences Required: - Awareness of latest industry trends in UX design across multiple platforms and the ability to bring those into the organisation - Evidenced experience of creating engaging user experiences with both new, innovative products as well as face-lifting existing, large scale products - Experience designing for desktop applications, web applications and mobile applications - Executing interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team - Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail - Ability to engage with senior stakeholders in our business to elicit views on customer demand and turn these into deliverables that meet the customer need - Understanding of common software project management tools and techniques - Understanding of common UX/UI tools and techniques - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, leadership, and negotiating skills - Strong personal drive and a desire to succeed If interested please apply Also add me on linked in : -simpson-642732b4 To find out more about Computer Futures please visit Computer Futures, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP | Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 England and Wales
