About the roleBalfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail UK team to work in Exeter. This role is to commercially support major projects within our long term collaborative Network Rail CP5 framework.What you'll be doingAs an integral part of our project team, you will be required to: Contribut to the successful Commercial Performance of a limited complexity Contract or section of a medium ProjectEnsure full compliance with commercial processesEnsure effective Main and Subcontract administration in order to deliver project commercial strategyDevelop effective relationships with Customers (Internal and External) and ensuring the timely provision of information between all partiesWork in conjunction with the Operations team to identify, escalate and mitigate risks Who we're looking forThe right person for the role will already have gained experience of the following: An understanding of Contract Law and InsurancesKnowledge of differing standard forms of contractWorking knowledge of risk managementKnowledge and understanding of sub-contracting principlesThe ability to provide contract advice to teamsThe ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlinesEnthusiasm and results focus Effective negotiation skills - with internal and external customers This role is based within our well established regional office in Exeter and supported by a high performing delivery team.
