As Head Chef you will be part of a busy kitchen team who are passionate about delivering amazing quality food for our guests in what is a Unique restaurant concept for us as currently its the only one of its type - Local, Fresh, High quality Food is what the South Beach Cafe is all about located on the Cliff overlooking the Jurassic coast it truly is a Breath of fresh air.

The Purpose of the Head Chef role:

+ Ensuring health and safety and Food Safety regulations are followed at all times
+ Responsible of the menu development and the costing of the dishes
+ Providing the specification for all meals
+ Leading the kitchen team to prepare meals according to the specification
+ Training kitchen staff Ordering of food ingredients and supplies
+ Setting up and working alongside our local suppliers
+ You will need to show your creativity and passion for Food through delivery of your daily specials
+ Approve and "polish" dishes before they reach the guests.
+ Monitoring usage and wastage of ingredients through effective prep plans and ordering
+ Supporting recruitment of new kitchen team
+ Review supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
+ Arrange for repairs when necessary
+ Work with the Restaurant Manager to deliver a great customer experience within the restaurant at all times

Head Chef Requirements:

+ Proven Experience as a Head chef
+ Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
+ Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
+ Ability and experience in handling volume in a fast paced environment
+ Outstanding communication and leadership skills
+ Up - to - date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
+ Good understanding of useful computer programmes
+ Level 3 or above in Food Safety qualification
+ We are able to offer LIVE in for a small deduction.
+ The role requires flexibility in working hours to cope with business needs/demands ( weekends, bank holidays etc... )
