As the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will be tasked with driving safety and environmental initiatives and ensuring that all personnel work in a safe and compliant manner. 

The company already possesses an ISO 14001 accreditation and you will seek to maintain this and achieve ISO 18001 status. You will act as the in-house expert for health and safety and environmental ISO systems and their requirements. 

Alongside Department Managers, you will develop and maintain behavioural systems to reduce incidents and issues. A major focus of your role will be to apply continuous improvement methodology to EHS systems to improve performance. 

Your role will also include: 

- Attending health and safety committee meetings 
- Providing and displaying health, safety and environmental statistics 
- Managing the EHS budget and making recommendations for capitol spend 
- Investigating all incidents and accidents and acting as the EHS point of contact for operational teams 
- Conducting audits and inspections 
- Ensuring teams are trained on relevant aspects of health and safety 
- Managing the site risk assessment programme 

Interested? To be considered, you must have: 

- Previous experience in a health, safety and environmental role 
- At least four years' experience in a manufacturing environment 
- Previous experience of working with food processing plants 
- Previous experience of maintaining ISO management systems 
- A strong level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office and especially Excel and PowerPoint 

Proactive and accurate, as the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will need to be able to work to deadlines, effectively prioritise your work and operate under pressure. A flexible approach will be key, as will strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
