We are a small enthusiastic team looking for an experiened bookkeeper. You will need to be flexible and actively contributing to a small team that is vital in a small business such as ours. What is more important, is a loyalty to the values of doing ethical business to continue our growth and expansion plans. Ideally you will be working a minimum of 15 hours per week ideally over 3 longer days or 5 mornings. Based in our office in central Plymouth but some home working could be an option for the future. Job description - General book keeping including sales and purchase invoicing, bank reconciliation and reports, chasing outstanding invoices, payment of invoices on Xero - Finance related HR eg payroll and holiday entitlement - Administration of PAYE with HMRC - Managing and advising on expenses process - Applying /renewal of memberships and accreditations - Management of relevant accounts eg phones, IT - Bank payments - Prepare VAT return and make VAT payments - Manage credit card payments - Updating Highrise and Access (CRM) - Administration of expenses - Management of payroll, pensions, commission and staff holiday entitlement - Renewals updates - Ideally helping to do month end adjustments and produce monthly management accounts - Attending Team meetings and contributing to Team Meetings and team tasks Ideally Experience: - VAT - PAYE administration - Bank reconciliations - Cash collection - Month-end accruals, prepayments and depreciation journals Competencies: - Excellent time management and personal organisation - Paying attention to detail - Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines when necessary - Good relationship builder - Good communication skills: written and verbal especially via telephone - Positive attitude - Willingness to learn - MS Excel skills to include use of filters, v look-ups, charts, formatting (number, date and general)
