Transport Manager / Transport Planner - Food / Drink - Barnstaple £28-35k DOE I am looking to recruit and experienced Transport Manager / Transport Planner with a current CPC to join a supplier of high quality Food Products. Over the last few years my client has become a company with a turnover in excess of £18M and a workforce of up to 130 staff. Due to a restructure, they are now seeking an experienced Transport Manager / Transport Planner who will report directly into the Site Operations Manager. As the Transport Manager / Transport Planner the main function of your role will be to co-ordinate / plan all logistics into and out of the factory ensuring strict deadlines are met whilst maintaining excellent relationships are with all critical stakeholders. You will be running a small fleet of 4 vehicles however you will also be in charge of 3rd party transport movements Role: - Ensure the smooth day to day running of all company logistics - Responsible for arranging statutory inspections, testing, servicing and ongoing repairs for all company vehicles - To build and maintain excellent relationships with all suppliers and provide excellent customer service to all internal and external clients - To plan and organise transport in order to meet customer order requirements and ensure delivery times are met for both UK & Export deliveries. - To be proactive in cost saving exercises monitoring and minimizing transport costs. - To enforce the company health and safety policy. - To inform the Senior Management Team of any issues that may arise. - To ensure that food safety, quality and legality areas are enforced. To enforce the company HACCP policy The successful candidate MUST have: ·Up to date CPC Certificate ·Proven work experience as a Transport Manager, Shipping Manager, Planner or similar role ·Solid knowledge of supply chain management ·Experience preparing and tracking orders ·Excellent IT and numerical skills ·Ability to liaise with Suppliers and production ·Knowledge of the principals of HACCP, health and safety and be familiar with BRC version 7 Global standard for Food Safety would be helpful Benefits In return my client offers an exciting and challenging role paying £28-35K DOE.
