Job Purpose: To professionally represent the Company to all internal and external parties. To enable the Sales Team to deliver quotations & tenders in line with Client and business requirements, on time, with agreed scope/quality and high levels of accuracy and to Client satisfaction.To manage the market, maintaining and building a stronger market share. To liaise with internal departments, Clients, agents, subcontractors and any other third parties. To ensure that all risks are identified, managed, mitigated, priced and documented. Main responsibilities: The Sales Manager reports to the European Sales Manager. They are responsible for liaison with the Sales Team personnel including Regional Sales Managers and sales activities within their nominated territories. (The territories include but are not limited to the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Scandinavia and Poland.) The negotiation and closure of all commercial and contractual aspects of a sale including signing of contracts with delegation to Sales Team personnel as required. Initial evaluation and appraisal with relevant Sales Team personnel of potential projects to determine the suitability of the product being offered. This will result in the selection of a particular product line and the required sales strategy to be employed with involvement of European Sales Manager and General Management and other business lines as appropriate. Liaison with the agent, if applicable, for the respective territory to identify projects and application for the equipment offered. This may involve individual or joint visits with other Sales Team personnel as appropriate, to Clients to discuss and develop current or future requirements. They will keep the agent informed of the latest and proposed equipment developments. Management of the submission of quotations to the Client with the assistance of the appropriate Sales Team personnel including Applications Engineers. Jointly preparing the quotation as necessary with the appropriate Sales Team personnel including Applications Engineers or Regional Sales Managers, or preparing the quotation themselves. Managing the progressing of the project with the Client following the submission of a quotation. This may involve management or supervision of replying to Client's questions or enabling the involvement of personnel with specific disciplines as required from other departments within the company. Providing information on current market requirements to the European Sales Manager. This may involve Client's perceptions of the equipment and the services offered by the Company. Project costing - overall responsibility for the preparation of costings associated with a quotation with assistance from Sales Team personnel as appropriate. This may involve liaison with sub-suppliers to provide project specific costs and/or the selection of standard equipment from sub-supplier data. Quotation evaluation - overall responsibility for liaison by Sales Team personnel with Clients in response to questions and queries relating to quotations. This may involve attending or arranging for attendance by appropriate Sales Team personnel at evaluation meetings at Client's premises, or managing/supervising the costing of alternative solutions and changes in specification and scope of supply. Handover of projects - on the successful outcome of the quotation procedure and the acceptance of the Client’s purchase order, to manage/supervise the compilation of all relevant documentation for handover of the project to the Projects Department. Client information - overall responsibility for supplying Clients and Agents with technical and commercial details of the Company’s product and services while liaising with sub-suppliers to obtain the required information with assistance from Sales Team personnel as appropriate. Commercial - overall responsibility for the review of Client's legal, technical and commercial requirements, verification of costings and compilation of project specific information with input from Sales Team personnel as appropriate. The Successful Candidate will have the following: Hold an apprenticeship or degree in Engineering. Able to travel regularly overseas, often at short notice. The ability to prioritise work load and manage and prioritise work of reporting personnel. Fluent IT skills in word Excel and Powerpoint. Affective communication skills at all levels. Quotation preparation Management of the submission of quotations to clients. Good commercial acumen and awareness. Ability to manage high valued accounts. Fluent in English Have a background in either Energy, Engineering or manufacturing. Experience in liaising with third party suppliers.
