Contract Type: MATERNITY COVER, Fractional, 22.2 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Fixed Term from 29/08/2017 until 30/06/2018

We are currently recruiting for an Adventure Sports Trainer Facilitator to cover Maternity leave, here at South Devon College. You will be required to instruct and facilitate learning for students enrolled on a range of programmes as assigned by the Section Head. You will assess students as appropriate by form or informal method, contributing to curriculum development and implementation of pastoral and welfare systems. You will need to develop and maintain good working relationships with both external and internal customers, and continue personal development in the areas of both subject knowledge and teaching/instructing methods.

The successful candidate will need hold National Governing Body Outdoor Education qualifications to include; SOA, ML or WGL & BC UKCC Level 2 Coach with 4 Star Canoe & Kayak. You will need to have a current First Aid certificate and hold a Driving Licence with Mini Bus Licence plus trailer. We are looking for someone with experience of working in Further Education, experience in the Outdoor Education industry, and experience in organising coaching programmes at all levels. You will also need to have relevant subject knowledge and have experience of implementing scheduled maintenance programmes for Outdoor Education equipment.
