Based in Crewkerne, Somerset, Wydale Plastics have become one of the leading South West rotational moulders, designing and producing varied and innovative products. We are now looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our team and help us grow further, playing a key role in the future success of the business. Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for the day to day running and efficient operation of the factory, leading and motivating the production team, ensuring all quality standards are achieved and health & safety adhered to. You will be responsible for - full line management and performance of circa. 25 factory team members - all aspects of production scheduling including stock control - quality assurance and seeking continuous improvement - factory Health, Safety and Welfare - ensuring effective planned and reactive maintenance occurs - financial management and control of production budget - embedding and daily management of internal electronic and manual systems and processes To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate - previous production management level experience in a similar bespoke product manufacturing environment - excellent team working skills, including effective delegation and active listening - ability to anticipate problems, use initiative and develop contingency plans, adopting a collaborative approach where necessary with others including customers - effective decision making, with an ability to set clear priorities for self and team - excellent communication skills, including the ability to give and receive constructive feedback - strong organisational and time management skills, able to project manage multiple demands and adapt to changing priorities - effectively work as part of the wider senior management team, with the confidence and ability to understand, analyse and present business information and data - ability to work with minimal supervision and high degree of self-motivation - a regular, visible, hands on presence within the factory. - A sense of humour and ability to create a work environment which motivates your team to come to work each day You should have an IOSH Managing Safely certificate and a management qualification and/or NEBOSH is desirable. Knowledge or experience of 5s, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or SAGE manufacturing accounts would be advantageous. Previous experience within the plastics industry is not essential to your application as relevant training will be provided.
