The Company: If you are an experienced Laboratory Technician who is used to undertaking Chemical Analysis, then you could be trained in this interesting environment involving Chemical and Metallurgy testing. You will work in the lab of a busy production facility, but our client will consider experience within a variety of environments: manufacturing, education, utilities. Job Responsibilities: - To provide chemical analysis and metallographic support for product quality assurance processes - Conduct tests on various products, whilst remaining fully aware of health and safety issues whilst working safely with chemicals and/or metals. - Reporting results accordingly. Preferred Skills: - Applicants should ideally hold a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a Science together with basic knowledge of spreadsheets, Word and databases. - A basic knowledge in the field of Metallography and/or chemical analysis techniques would be especially useful but full training will be provided as necessary. - Previous experience of working in a laboratory environment is preferred where you will have gained experience of lab test processes and systems. The testing machines include hardness and tensile testing, sinter powder analysis. For chemical analysis the methods include titration, Atomic Absorption and UV spectroscopy - A methodical approach is required in order to carry out tasks accurately.
