Our client is a leading national social housing provider looking to take on a Building Surveyor to deliver planned, preventative and responsive maintenance services in the South West. This is a home based role covering East Devon, South Somerset and West Dorset. Key responsibilties: Operational lead for planned/ replacement programmes within an area Initiates and delivers local planned and preventative maintenance programmes within an area Provides technical support to Maintenance Surveyors when necessary Liaises closely with the Contract Manager on operational aspects of planned and responsive contracts and the quality of work Assumes primary responsibility for resolving significant operational problems and ensuring delivery Undertakes site inspections, specifying and procuring repairs, and undertaking progress inspections and post-completion checking, when necessary Leads on the diagnosis, options appraisal and delivery of technically complex or major repairs and projects Reviews performance information and customer feedback and takes action to ensure service standards are maintained or improved Deals with occurrences of service failure, including dealing with compensation claims, complaints, and legal actions Ensures the safety of the clients Staff Including themselves; Tenant; contractor; and the general public in the planning and delivery of maintenance activities Person specificaton: Essential: a qualification in a construction or maintenance-related discipline equivalent to or higher than HNC or similar subject; or equivalent experience Preferable: a member or working towards full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Chartered Institute of Building, or equivalent Minimum 5 years’ experience of managing maintenance contractors Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of buildings and services.
