Outreach Assistant South West National Collaborative Outreach Programme (SWNCOP)

Salary: £17,196 - £18,002 (pro rata) plus excellent benefits

Hours: 22.2 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term until 31st December 2018

Working closely with the Outreach Officer and as a member of the extended ‘Next Steps’ team, you will be primarily responsible for working within Exeter College to maximise institutional contribution to the programme and the engagement of Exeter College students. You will also assist the Outreach Officer, as and when needed, with activities in and around the Exeter area.

You will work with internal stakeholders within Exeter College and potential students to raise their aspiration to progress on to Higher Education and assist them in making a well-informed choice of university or college and programme, through the delivery of events, activities and new initiatives.

‘Next Steps’, funded by the Higher Education for Funding Council England (HEFCE), aims to increase the progression of students from disadvantaged backgrounds into Higher Education across Devon, Cornwall and some areas of Somerset through collaboration between partner institutions and external organisations.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders and will have previous experience of working within a higher education or further education setting.  Experience of working within an office environment is also essential.

Interviews will be held in Exeter on Friday 8th September.
