IT Administrator / Systems Administrator / IT Technician / IT Support - Bridgwater - £19-22k My client, a successful manufacturing company, is looking to recruit an IT Administrator / Systems Administrator / IT Technician / IT Support o work in their modern offices in Bridgwater. The successful systems administrator will be part of a very small team responsible for maintaining the company's IT network, servers, phones etcThe company uses LYNUX servers so the successful person must have a working knowledge of LYNUX. You will be responsible for investigating and diagnosing network problems, collecting IT usage stats, making recommendations for improving the company's IT systems and carrying out the routine configuration and installation of IT solutions. On a day to day basis, you might be called upon to help colleagues with more basic IT needs. This will mean you'll need to share your own knowledge to help others, including setting up new users and managing backup, security and passwords. You will also be encouraged to work on special Projects designed to improve the performance and usability of the system Primary responsibilities may include: ·Maintain system efficiency. ·Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together. ·Troubleshoot problems reported by users (There are approx 25 users). ·Make recommendations for future upgrades. ·Maintain network and system security. ·Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users. ·Evaluate and modify system's performance. Identify user needs. ·Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security. ·Perform network address assignment. ·Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers. ·Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, Wireless Access Points, software deployment, security updates and patches. Key skills: ·Working knowledge of LINUX servers is a MUST; ·Hands on experience of problem solving of IT hardware and software; ·Knowledge of Macs. ·Good organisational skills; ·PHP development experience would be helpful although not essential Benefits: Salary of £19-21k DOE plus 33 days holiday. This is a Monday-Friday 37.5hrs role with free car parking and pension.
