Estimating Surveyor M&E bias required to join a leading South West Facilities company to work closely with the Business Development Director across both the Public and private Sectors. Girling Jones require an Estimating Surveyor M&E bias to prepare details costings for major tenders and to liaise with the Commercial Manager and Business Development Director to prepare and finalise documents in respect of contracts up to £1m. Your new position Reporting to and liaising closely with the Business Development Director, as the Estimating Surveyor you will be vital to all current clients and contracts as well as putting together bids and tenders for new business. The role will include the following emphases; M&E Building Services Engineering Maintenance estimating of Labour (SFG20), Materials, Specialist Subcontractors, Tools & Equipment, Mobilisation, etc Building fabric (planned inspections) estimation as above also Wide financial range of tender opportunities (say £10k to £500k pa), a mixture of client-specified tenders and proactive bids on our own scope Analysis and take-off from asset registers/plant & equipment lists in tender documents, and going on site surveys/inspections Contacting specialist subcontractors to request quotations and incorporate responses into bids Estimating and costing of all the above elements to produce tender estimates and cost-of-sales spreadsheets as financial basis of bids, and completing pricing schedules to return to clients Using estimating software, MS Excel, MS Word and other packages daily What you'll need to succeed Proven experience within a similar role Proven extensive experience of estimating BC&E and M&E general construction 'small works' Good Understanding of H&S regulations Able to working to deadlines and meet targets under pressure Ideally you have experience of working within Commercial contracts. Good understanding of estimating software packages (desirable) Good understand of current building regulations and codes of practice Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach Highly literate and experienced with IT Expert at interacting with clients Excellent level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes Qualifications Educated to a minimum HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant disciplines preferably with a professional membership, e.g. CIOB, RICS, CIBSE NEBOSH/IOSH What you'll get in return In return a market leading salary plus package The next step?
