We are looking for a talented Structural Dynamics Analyst to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England. Your main activities will include: • Dynamic analysis and testing of Company’s products, equipment installations and external stores to achieve the required product performance specifications, with minimal development effort and avoidance of re-design. • Development of solutions for structural and/or equipment vibration problems. • Prediction of airframe and equipment dynamic characteristics and vibration response • Ground/flight test/measurement of airframe and equipment dynamics/vibration. • Contribution to the qualification and production clearance of the air-vehicle and its systems relating to dynamics/vibration and aeromechanics • Contribution to the specification, design, development, ground/flight testing, qualification and in-service support of passive and active vibration alleviation devices and control systems. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • Degree or higher degree in a relevant subject (e.g. aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, science or mathematics) • Basic technical knowledge and experience of: theoretical dynamics; vibration analysis; passive vibration control methods; active vibration control algorithms; vibration testing and instrumentation • Basic knowledge of Finite Element method and its application for structural modelling and analysis • Knowledge of digital signal analysis fundamentals • Specific working knowledge of: civil and military helicopter operations; airworthiness regulation, etc. • Basic knowledge of transmissions systems, power systems, structures, helicopter ground and flight test procedures • Practice and basic skills of PC-based office automation packages and technical high-level programming languages like Matlab, Fortran, etc. • Travelling and working away from home for short duration periods may be occasionally required on an occasional basis Employment benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave, salary sacrifice childcare voucher scheme, the opportunity to join an award winning pension scheme, free car parking, employee discount scheme, an on-site Occupational Health Service, flexible working, flexi -leave scheme and a generous relocation package.
