We are looking for a talented Material Planning Analyst to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England. Your main activities will include: • Assist with the design and implementation of common processes across the business for the planning, forecasting, procurement and management of materials (supported by systems such as Optimiza and SAP) with particular focus on analysis. • Design and compile ad hoc reports to support the Planning Department. • Using Optimiza and inventory management methodology; control, plan and forecast inventory - making adjustments to plans and forecasts based on changes in demand and usage trends. • Identify potential stock shortfalls and investigate and take action to mitigate availability risk. • Forecast future requirements into Procurement - analysing the financial drivers of procurement, distribution and spares/repair plans from an inventory perspective. • Analyse customers’ spares sales to determine: frequent movers, decide stocking policy to reduce lead times, maximise turnover, improve customer satisfaction, optimise financial return to the business and optimise spares availability to the customer. • Lead / attend planning and forecasting meetings with key business stakeholders and assist with the management of provisioning systems within Material Support. ESSENTIAL/DESIREABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE • Sound educational background; to at least degree level in mathematics. • Highly developed analytical skills and logic. • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access. • Knowledge of demand management and forecasting techniques. • Good working knowledge of SAP is desirable – on job training can be provided. • Understanding of MRP and inventory management is desirable. • Understanding of supply chain management. • Interpersonal and team skills. • Understanding of how to work to and report budgetary controls.
