Hampton's are currently working exclusively with a Large well known Charity who provide care and support for their elderly members, we are supporting them with the recruitment of a Registered Manager/Hotel Manager based in the Weston Super Mare for a 30-bedded partial care setting for short breaks 9 of the beds are CQC with the remaining beds accommodating members of the organisation through their welfare dept for short breaks for the ages of 70+

The appointed Manager will be the responsible person under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. To maintain CQC registration for the Hotel and to manage the resources, staff and service provision, ensuring the highest possible standards are met. To ensure that particular attention is paid to the policies and procedures set by the Association (in line with the Care Quality Commission regulation) which provide for a happy, safe, secure and beneficial respite break for guests.

To provide leadership and give clear direction to the service, creating a culture in which staff work together to maintain and uphold the associations ethos of the Hotel and to achieve maximum visibility of the Association.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for the efficient running of the Hotel ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and regulation (including CQC, Fire, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and to meet requirements for licence to sell intoxicating liquor in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of agreed operational policies to ensure a safe and caring environment for guests and to assist in developing policies and procedures that are specific to the Registered Hotels.
  • To take the lead on inspections and audits from external and internal agencies including CQC, Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health, Weights and Measures, Licensing Authorities and Welfare visits
  • To ensure, through promoting a positive image, that occupancy levels are maximised and maintained.
  • To propose the budget for the Hotel, determining the requirements and recommendations of maintenance and other reviews.
  • To manage the resources of the Hotel, within the agreed budget, ensuring that financial controls are maintained in accordance with associations Financial Standing Orders.
  • To lead on the quality assurance and audit processes for the Hotel providing statistical reports as requested by Central Headquarters.
  • To work with the Deputy Hotel Manager and ensure that they are equipped to ensure that care and support delivered is of a high quality and is conducive to the needs of the guests, in line with current legislation.
  • To work with the Central Headquarters marketing team in order to organise fundraising initiatives, attain a high profile and maintain occupancy levels within the Hotel.
  • To safeguard the security & welfare of guests by reporting and acting accordingly to any mistreatment or suspected mistreatment in line with Safeguarding Policy and the Social Care Council Code of Practice.
  • To ensure that guests' privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
  • To ensure confidentiality of guests' information.
  • To deal with any complaints regarding service delivery in line with associations policy and CQC requirements.

Candidates suitable for this post will be able to demonstrate:

  • The person selected as manager will have a genuine interest in elderly people and their wellbeing
  • Will be self-motivated and able and happy to work in both a team situation and alone
  • Have recent relevant experience working with the elderly at management level
  • They must be able to time manage and to multi-task
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver tasks completed to a deadline
  • Have a can-do attitude and be self-motivated
  • NVQ Level 5 or equivalent

They will have the ability to carry out all the above with composure, a happy countenance, a positive attitude and a relaxed manner.

Annual Salary: GBP38,000 - GBP41,000 + Benefits

36 days per annum, including public holidays

Pension: 9% employer and 4% employee defined contribution scheme

Life Assurance: Three times salary
