Social Workers (Fostering) (Dorchester, Dorset)
We are looking for 3.5 FTE highly motivated Social Workers to join our forward thinking, child centred Fostering Team.
We can offer you a supportive, nurturing environment in which to develop your social work career. You will be need to be a qualified social worker with experience of working with children in care. Having fostering and/or Adoption experience would be an advantage. The role requires excellent assessment, analysis, report writing, organisation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
A sound knowledge of current research and legislation relating to children and substitute family placements is essential. Good practical knowledge gained from experience of the journey of the child in the care system and the skills needed to be part of a multi-agency team caring for those children in foster families is also essential. The role is dynamic and diverse, and may include undertaking Fostering Assessments, presenting to Fostering Panel and Court, facilitating training, supervision of foster carers and duty work.
There is a travel requirement as the role covers the whole of Dorset and may include wider travel outside of the county.
