FIXED TERM VACANCY – Inclusion Teaching Assistant

A vacancy has arisen for a Fixed Term INCLUSION TEACHING ASSISTANT for 23.75 hours per week which are required in the mornings across five days a week, term time only plus inset days. The post will start as soon as possible and will cease on 31st August 2018. The school’s future requirements will be reviewed during the academic year.

GRADE C: point 14–18 depending on experience; salary will be paid pro rata (full time equivalent salary currently £16781 - £18070)

We wish to appoint an experienced, motivated, talented, dedicated and caring Inclusion Teaching Assistant with excellent classroom practice who can maintain our high standards of behaviour and achievement.

You will support pupils across the school who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities; you should be comfortable working both 1:1 and in small groups. You will assist with the learning activities and delivery of core learning subjects, also other specific requirements linked to the social development and welfare of pupils. The successful applicant should be able to use appropriate strategies to manage and support groups or individual pupils with complex educational, sometimes health and/or social needs and be able to respond positively to a range of sometimes unpredictable behaviours. You will work actively as part of the Inclusion Team, supervised by the Inclusion Coordinator.

GCSE in English and Maths at Grade A-C and the STLS NVQ Level 2 qualification are essential. The STLS NVQ Level 3 qualification is desirable.
